A CHALLENGE TO THE FOUNDATION
Isabelita Barnachea-Casibang, M.D., President

Following is the text of Dr. Casibang's inaugural address to the UERMMMC MAAA, Inc. MARVADC Chapter.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, fellow alumni, Ambassador Gaa, guests. I was informed that a few members of the UERMMMC AFUSA will attend to give their support to its president. I would say 'no', they did not come to support the AFUSA President. They came to support a friend. But first and foremost, they came to support our chapter organization — the host chapter, MARVADC, where they belong.

They came to attend to support the AFUSA and to support the National Organization whose birth was conceived in the state of Maryland. It is through »more

the Maryland alumni's great effort and nurture that it grew. This is why there had been three of its past presidents coming from the progressive thinking Marylanders. They are Drs. Sion, Elma and Casibang. I am very proud to have served the first two as an officer and I was the shadow of the third.

I am very sorry that Dr. Rigor cannot be here tonight, he had a previous engagement that he cannot break. Dr. Querubin had already scheduled commitment before our re-scheduled affair. I would like to inform everyone their regrets for not coming and their congratulatory messages to the new set of officers of MARVADC.

I am the silent officer who is in charge of policing how the Foundation follows our CBL, laws of the US, NY state as well as IRS basically all governmental and as well as non-governmental monitoring bodies. So I am only one representative of AFUSA.

I would like to ask everyone with a charitable heart to not forget UERMMMC AFUSA, in case you will donate to your school projects. Write on your checks, UERMMMC AFUSA or AFUSA so that it will not be misdirected elsewhere, as this has happened before. If you have any questions, give Dr. Gilo or me a ring or e-mail and we will try our best to answer you. If we do not know the answer, we will get someone more knowledgeable to answer you. Please, I enjoin everyone to be active and generous to all AFUSA activities. I invite all of you to attend the foundations meeting so that you will be informed on how your donations are managed and disbursed by the officers in charge. By attending its meeting during our convention, you will learn first hand the goings on of the AFUSA, thus maybe in the near future you would be one of its officers. In any organization, you would be involved with, you will serve it better. You would also be a better alumni to your Alma Mater and its ideals.

Lastly, I would like to thank Dr. Pasatiempo, the MARVADC president for inviting and including us in today's activity. Again, I would like to tell everyone that as one of your AFUSA officers and president, I am at your service. Thank you and enjoy the evening.
